What is in the set?
Four utensils: a solid spoon, a salad fork, a spatula and a slotted spatula.
How long are they?
About 12 inches each, which is long enough for deep pots and for serving at the table.
Can I put them in the dishwasher?
No. Hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Dishwasher heat and prolonged soaking will dry out and split bamboo over time.
Will they scratch my non-stick pans?
No. The bamboo is polished smooth and is safe on non-stick, cast iron and stainless steel.
Are they safe for hot pans?
Yes. Bamboo is naturally heat resistant. It is not microwave safe.
Has the bamboo been tested for chemicals?
Yes, for formaldehyde. Our manufacturer had the bamboo tested by DEKRA against the European food-contact standard — Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and the German LFGB, Sections 30 and 31. Formaldehyde migration was not detected in any of the three test conditions — acetic acid and ethanol at 100 °C, and olive oil at 175 °C — against a limit of 15 mg/kg. That is report 4908125.51, dated 25 September 2023, and we will send you a copy if you ask.
Is the guitar-neck shape your own design?
Yes. The three-dimensional shape of the handle — the neck and headstock of an electric guitar — is registered trade dress with the USPTO, Reg. No. 6,541,463, owned by Rise8 Studios LLC and in commerce since 2016. It is not a stock shape anyone can order.
Do they arrive gift-ready?
Yes. Every set ships in its own printed retail box, so it needs no wrapping.
How should I care for them long term?
Hand wash, dry standing up rather than lying in water, and rub with a little food-safe mineral oil occasionally if the surface starts to look dry.
